About the project

Accessible Tourism for a More Inclusive Europe

The Open Doors project aims to train 90 tourism professionals in Italy, Portugal, and Poland on the topics of universal accessibility and inclusive tourism.

The main objective is to enhance the professional skills of tourism operators in order to meet the needs of a market that is increasingly focused on accessible services.

In addition, the project seeks to promote the social inclusion of vulnerable groups, such as people with disabilities, older adults, and families with young children, while also raising awareness among communities and institutions about the importance of accessible tourism for social and economic development.

FormaLab, active since 2010, is an Italian knowledge company specialized in training and skills development. In OPEN DOORS, it coordinates activities and develops inclusive training paths in tourism, ensuring quality and tangible results.

CRESAÇOR, an Azores-based cooperative active since 2000, promotes solidarity economy, inclusion, and local development through training and social initiatives. In OPEN DOORS, it contributes to project content, facilitating dialogue among stakeholders and highlighting real needs and good practices.

  • Engagement of local stakeholders

  • Facilitation of dialogue between operators and communities
  • Development of the technical reference document

Polish Farm Advisory (Poland)

The Polish Farm Advisory and Training Centre promotes training, sustainability, and rural community development through educational programs and employment initiatives. In OPEN DOORS, it is responsible for the direct engagement of participants, selecting motivated tourism operators with real training needs.

  • Selection of 90 tourism operators
  • Management of the call and interviews
  • Assessment of motivations and training needs
  • Active involvement of participants
